- Where can I get it?
- Not yet. It’s in private testing, and not on the App Store.
- Do I need an account?
- No. The app works without one.
- Which iPhones can run it?
- Any iPhone with iOS 17 or later.
- Does it read tequila too?
- Yes. Tequila, mezcal and other agave spirits, like raicilla and bacanora, are all in it. So is sotol, made from a different plant. The library holds 1,308 bottles so far.
- What if my bottle isn’t found?
- Scan the front label, up close. The app shows what the label says, on Shelf, under Scans. Or email us its name.
- Can it look a bottle up online?
- Yes, if you agree. The first time a bottle isn’t found, the app asks. A yes sends only the bottle’s cut-out and its words to Anthropic’s AI. Change it any time in Settings, under Look up unknown bottles. It needs Share scans on.
- Does it work offline?
- Yes. Labels are read and matched on your phone. Bottle pictures and online lookups need a connection.
- What do you get from my scans?
-
With Share scans on:
- The bottle, cut out of your photo.
- Its label words, the bottle it matched, the day and your stars.
- With location on, the bar or shop and its city. Never your exact position.
None of it carries your name, your email or a phone ID. The full list is in the app: Settings, then Privacy.
- Can I stop sharing scans?
- Yes. It starts on. On Home, tap your profile, then the gear, and turn off Share scans. Scans you already shared are kept.
